    TCM for treatment of vitiligo

I just want to give update about the progress of my daughter's treatment.  As I mentioned in my previous post, we have been seeking treatment at a traditional chinese clinic here in Toronto.  Their herbal therapy consists of internal and external treatments.  The internal therapy is an herb mixture which helps improve proper flow of Qi (or energy flow) and blood to the skin as well as cleansing the body of any toxins.  While the external therapy is a psoralen-rich tincture which is applied to the spots followed by a short exposure to direct sunlight.  Psoralens are chemicals which make the skin more sensitive to the sun and spark the interrupted melanin production.

The first couple of days we had a really tough time trying to make our 2 year old drink four spoons of bitter herb solution eventhough we tried to sweeten it with all kinds of combinations.  Then we decided to dissolve the herbs in small amount of hot water and add a large spoonful of pure honey.  This worked like a charm.  Three days later now my daughters's spots are turning pink.  Could this be the beginnig of repigmentation?  We certainly hope so.  Has anybody on this forum ever tried such treatment and achieved success, and if so, what was the transformation like?  Was it white then pink and finally repigmentation?  I would love to hear that it was exactly so.

    Cheers.
